10:00 (5 min) Welcome, everyone, to our panel discussion on Entrepreneurship and innovations for energy transition. We are having this conversation  as a part of the EU-funded project WEnnovate and the host of our meeting is the annual scientific conference "Actual Problems of Management and Marketing." of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”. Thank you, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy for  giving us this stage!  I'd like to inform our audience that today's panel discussion will be recorded for future reference and dissemination. The recording will be available on the partners’ webpages.

My name is Olga Voropai, project coordinator and innovation expert at the Kyiv Academic University. Together with my  Colleague, Natalia Harashchenko, project manager of the WEnnovate project, we  will lead you through this, hopefully very insightful discussion.

(2  min) Natalia, could you please introduce our guests to the WEnnovate project.

Nataliia:

The project is dedicated to revolutionizing the energy sector through innovations. Our aim is simple yet ambitious: transition towards a green, sustainable, and locally powered energy system for Europe.  It means leveraging digital and deep tech advancements to ensure efficient renewable energy distribution, making it fair, self-sufficient, affordable, and universally accessible. It also means fostering the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the strategic objectives of the New European Innovation Agenda, strengthening the pathways towards Clean Energy for All Europeans and boosting Local Energy Communities and Energy Sharing.

The project involves studying the views, approaches and estimates by different stakeholders - government, business, scientists and civil society representatives - to clear out the subject matter  from their perspectives and boost better  understanding for policymaking.

WEnnovate includes the following partners: Design Terminal, G-Force, Sustainable Scale-up Foundation, Unify.energy, Kyiv Academic University, Ukrainian Startup Fund, and the Province of Utrecht. Together, as the outcome, we are crafting long-term action plans to elevate our energy systems through innovation.
