On December 5 at 2:30 PM, the final reporting event (pitch presentations) of student projects under the Program for Supporting Student Scientific and Innovation Projects and Startups of the Innovation Center of Kyiv Academic University (KAU), implemented in cooperation with Noosphere Engineering School (NES), took place at the Educational and Research Space of Kyiv Academic University.
The Program aims to foster the development of student and academic startups by providing support in prototype development and pitch preparation, as well as helping participants understand the specifics of implementing scientific and innovative developments, startup projects, and promoting their solutions toward industrial application.
Four teams advanced to the final stage and presented the results of their work:
1. Antithrombotic drug “Defibrinomab”
Project participants: Roksolana Demchynska, Kateryna Baidakova, Ivanna-Mariia Klymkovych — 2nd-year Master’s students, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Scientific mentor: Dr. of Biological Sciences V. Chernyshenko, O.V. Palladin Institute of Biochemistry, NAS of Ukraine.
Business mentor: Vadym Horenko, Head of the Project Office.
2. Defect Detection Service for Periodic Structures
Project participants:
Mykola Korablov — 1st-year PhD student, Kyiv Academic University;
Volodymyr Zhydkov — PhD, V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics, NAS of Ukraine;
Oleksandr Cheberiak — 1st-year Master’s student, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

3. AI-Based Rapid Emotional Screening (AIREST)
Project participants:
Illia Oholtsov, Nikita Basenko — 2nd-year Master’s students, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute;
Ostap Kalapun — 2nd-year Master’s student, Ukrainian Catholic University;
Oleksandra Yakovlieva — 2nd-year Master’s student, Kyiv Medical University;
Tetiana Lahuta — 2nd-year Master’s student, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

4. PhytoNano Innovations — the use of nanocomposite mixtures based on plant raw materials to create innovative cosmetic products and dietary supplements.
Project participants:
Yuliia Buian, Anastasiia Briazun — 5th-year students, Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University;
Yana Moriia — 4th-year student, Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University.

The pitch presentations sparked lively discussions among experts and participants. The jury highlighted the high level of team preparation and provided recommendations for further project development.

1st place — AIREST
2nd place (shared) — Defibrinomab and Defect Detection Service for Periodic Structures
3rd place — PhytoNano Innovations
The winners received monetary awards from one of the key partners, the Academ.City Charitable Foundation, which supports the implementation of the Program.
The event was held within the framework of the experimental project “Academ.City Startup School” of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Innovation Development Fund, aimed at establishing a network of startup schools, incubators, and accelerators at higher education institutions and research organizations.
