On December 12, the first Danube Tech Summit took place, a new annual catalytic event for the strategic innovation sector of the Danube Region, which will promote knowledge sharing and networking between businesses, policy makers, educational institutions and civil society organizations.

The cooperation between GLOBSEC and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour and Economic Affairs is aimed at creating a dynamic platform that has brought together more than 150 representatives from across the region and beyond. Among them are visionary founders, CEOs of technology companies, CEOs of fast-growing startups and unicorn companies, chief innovation officers, ministers responsible for innovation, economy and finance in the region, as well as EU delegates, politicians and civil society representatives. The main goal was to propose effective solutions to strengthen the progress and innovation potential of the Danube Region hub.

Among the visitors was Volodymyr Nochvai, Head of the Open Innovation Lab at Kyiv Academic University. We are pleased that Ukraine now has the opportunity to integrate closely into the CEE innovation ecosystem and implement innovations together.

To demonstrate our unwavering support for Ukraine and to facilitate informal communication, a cultural event was organized in partnership with the Vienna Academy Orchestra. The event aimed to create an inviting platform where participants could come together to express solidarity with Ukraine and make meaningful connections in an informal setting.
