SBone project of the startup, which was created as a result of the scientific work and partnership of two master's students of KAU and with the scientific support of the KAU institute (G. V. Kurdyumov Institute for Metal Physics of the N.A.S. of Ukraine) and the mentoring support of AkademCity KAU. A scientific invention for the production of bio glass capable of increasing bone During the development of the SBone project, from the initiation of the idea to the registration of the startup, cooperation was established between KAU and the project team, and services were provided that contributed to the advancement of scientific development to the next stages of its evolution as a product: Scientific and educational support in product creation and development Students, graduates of the master's degree of KAU, Department of Applied Physics and Nanomaterials started and continue the journey from a scientific idea to the introduction into production and bringing to the market an innovative product - a scientific invention of the production of bio glass, which is able to inflate the bone that makes it possible to restore bone tissue with antibacterial and anticancer parts The students’ research based product was created in KAU during the educational process. Learning by doing is the key advantage of KAU that enables students to conduct research in laboratories of NASU institutes. KAU master's student Anastas Romansky under the supervision of Volodymyr L Karbivskii, Doctor of Sciences (Phys.-Math.), Professor of the Department of Applied Physics and Nanomaterials that operates on base of the G.V. Kurdjumov Institute of Metal Physics of NAS of Ukraine, started product development while writing his master's thesis, which was dedicated to the topic: Quantum mechanical calculations of the structure and properties of carbonate-containing calcium apatites. This research activity gave results to the further development of the idea of production of bioceramics, which is capable of restoring bone tissue with antibacterial and oncoprotective parts. KAU master's student Ivan Horbatenko, who became the head of the SBone project and contributed to its commercialization, search and study of business requests, development of the project concept and roadmap, product improvement, team formation Ivan Horbatenko and Anastas Romanskyi, who are graduates of the master's degree at KAU, and during their studies began to work on the development of the drug, its promotion for the purpose of commercialization, received support and requests from business, began the process of developing a roadmap for the idea commercialization and introduction into production, and in subsequently received recognition at the Lab2Market UA competition - the SBone project became one of the winners and was awarded 2nd place by the jury among all presented projects.
