The Correspondence Academic School(CAS) of the Kyiv Academic University helps Ukrainian students deepen their knowledge of physics and mathematics through independent study and participation in research and competitions. It offers both individual and group formats, using up-to-date Ukrainian-language teaching materials that include theory, examples, problems, and solutions. Successful students are promoted to the next class or receive a certificate upon graduation.
The purpose of studying at the Correspondence Academic School (CAS) of the Kyiv Academic University (KAU) is to help Ukrainian students who are interested in physics and mathematics to deepen and systematize their knowledge of these subjects, to engage them in independent research, in particular through participation in competitions and initiatives of KAU, and to promote their professional self-determination.
The training is conducted on the basis of new teaching aids that take into account all the many years of experience of the ZASH's predecessor, the USFTU. The manuals were created in Ukrainian by experienced teachers of specialized schools and universities of Ukraine in accordance with the programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The ZASH CAU supports two forms of training: individual and in school-based circles. The leaders of the circles will be provided with teaching materials.
The methodological materials contain theoretical material, analysis of typical examples and tasks on the relevant topic, and 10 to 12 control questions and tasks for independent solution. These are both simple and more complex tasks. The manual is immediately accompanied by the author's solutions to these tasks recommended by the ZASH CAU, and in the case of individual training, along with the student's checked work.
At the end of the school year, students who have successfully completed the ZASH KAU program according to the chosen learning system are promoted to the next grade, and graduates (grade 11) receive a school-leaving certificate with final grades in the subjects they have studied.
