Knowledge Rise is a promising European project implemented in the context of building innovative and entrepreneurial potential in higher education institutions for the development of advanced technologies. The project aims to create a transformational European innovation ecosystem based on advanced solutions for the sustainable development of the blue and green economies. The project envisages a radical change in the approach to innovation in higher education, creating strong links between the academic environment and the business community.
Knowledge Rise is an integral part of the CloudEARTHi project, which has a rich history of development that began in 2021 as part of the first EIT HEI Cohort.
Over the years, CloudEARTHi has gone through several stages of growth thanks to the support of various European funding programs: BOOSTalent (Cohort 3), SEEDplus (Horizon Europe), and Inspiring the Minds (Erasmus+), which allowed the project to evolve and expand its impact.
Today, the project brings together more than 30 partners from 15 European countries (academic institutions, industry and government organizations) to position Europe as a global leader in Deep Tech.
CloudEARTHi works in six strategic areas: education and capacity building, development of innovation infrastructure, creation and acceleration of startups, research excellence, policy influence and global dissemination of EU achievements.
Knowledge Rise directly implements three of these areas: developing Deep Tech education, creating infrastructure to support talent, and fostering startups, especially in the context of sustainable blue and green economies.
The main goal of the project is to build strong innovation capacity in higher education institutions, among students and businesses in key Deep Tech industries, including:
The strategic importance of the project is to create a pan-European pool of highly skilled talent capable of working at the intersection of different technological disciplines and implementing innovative solutions in the real economy. The project is aimed at bridging the existing gaps in the knowledge triangle, where each vertex represents the academic, business and public sectors, creating a synergistic effect from their interaction.
Knowledge Rise is viewed not only as a European initiative, but also as an important contribution to the achievement of the UN's global Sustainable Development Goals and the fulfillment of the Paris Agreement's climate commitments. The technological solutions developed under the project will have the potential to be adapted and implemented in other regions of the world, contributing to the global transition to a sustainable economy.
Particular attention is paid to international cooperation and knowledge exchange with partners outside Europe, including developing countries that can implement best practices to address their own socio-economic and environmental challenges. This creates opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships and strengthening global stability through technological cooperation.
Thus, the Knowledge Rise project is a strategic investment in the future of Europe and the world, where technological innovations serve not only economic prosperity but also the preservation of the planet for future generations.
