A series of strategic initiatives brought together scientists, entrepreneurs and government agencies to create a platform that will become the main center for innovation development in Ukraine. The event was aimed at developing the concept of a hub that will ensure the long-term development of technologies, commercialization of scientific achievements, and increase Ukraine's competitiveness in the global market.
The event will bring together all participants and create unique opportunities for everyone.
For entrepreneurs, it is a chance to integrate advanced scientific developments into their business processes, opening up new prospects for growth and investment. Cooperation with scientists and government agencies will help strengthen competitive advantages in the market.
Participation in the event allowed scientists to influence the strategic development of science in Ukraine. For civil servants, Academ.City is an important strategic project that will contribute to the implementation of government initiatives to develop innovations. The establishment of the Innovation Hub of Academ.City Science Park is a step towards a future where Ukraine will take a leading position in the global scientific community, creating an innovative environment that will allow the most daring ideas to be realized.


The first meetup

Academ.City Science Park, initiated and supported by the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City State Administration, opened a series of meetups dedicated to the creation of an innovation hub in Kyiv.
We discussed infrastructure for scientists.
Our speakers shared their valuable knowledge and experience:

  • Tetiana Boiko, Head of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Division of the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA)Kyiv City State Administration - KCSA;
  • Alexandra Antoniouk, PhD, Deputy Director for Science and Innovation at the Kyiv Academic University, Academ.City Project Manager, spoke about the creation and development of the Academ City Science Park;
  • Olena Tsyplitska and Vitaliy Gryga, representatives of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, spoke about global trends in the development of innovation hubs;
  • Dmytro Kornienko, co-founder of the brobots engineering school, spoke about the development of educational technical workshops.

The second meetup


The second event in the series was devoted to the development of a model of interaction between scientists, business, and the city community.

We discussed the model of interaction that will contribute to the development of the science park and will be the key to the prosperity of Akademgorodok as a center of innovation.

Our speakers shared valuable insights and experience:

  • Volodymyr Nochvai, Head of the Digital Innovation Hub at Kyiv Academic University and Deputy Project Manager of Academ City, spoke about the achievements and plans for the development of the park and the hub.
  • Hleba Viktor emphasized the importance of the community's role in creating sustainable innovation hubs.
  • Sergii Salata gave an inspiring presentation on “From technological chips to vertical farms: innovations in manufacturing and the role of the business community in the global economy.”
  • Georgiy Firstov shared practical tips for starting an innovation journey.
  • Special thanks to Kateryna Pylypchuk for her interesting report on the global experience of creating models of interaction between business, the public and public sectors, as well as for the professional moderation of the event.

An equally important part of the meetup was the active work in groups, during which the participants made inspired presentations of their concepts that reflected their vision of the future of the hub.

The third meetup


This time, the focus was on environmental solutions and urban approaches, and we dove into a discussion of how the future hub could become a model of sustainable development.
Our speakers shared valuable knowledge and insights:

  • Nataliia Garashchenko (Head of the Training and Innovation Laboratory at the Science and Technology Center of Kyiv Academic University) spoke about the creation and development of Academ.City Science Park.
  • Dmytro Lazarenko (Doctor of Economics) discussed the possibilities of implementing projects within the circular economy cluster.
  • Kostyantyn Mezentsev (Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) presented ideas for revitalizing urban spaces.
  • Konstantin Kolesnikov (Marketer, conceptologist) raised an interesting topic of human-centeredness vs. nature-centeredness.

     

The fourth meeting


This time we discussed an equally important topic - administrative and organizational issues.
At the fourth meetup, dedicated to discussing the administrative and financial model of the innovation hub for Academ.City Science Park, a panel discussion was organized with experts who have extensive experience in managing and developing innovation hubs and similar locations.

Speakers of the discussion panel:

  • Kostyantyn Yevtushenko, Partner at Unit.City Innovation Park, which is one of the leading technology and innovation clusters in Ukraine. His experience will allow him to share insights on the development of sustainable models of financing and management of innovation parks.
  • Yevhen Mushkin, CEO of VDNKh in Kyiv, who manages a large cultural and innovation space, combining business, science and culture. His experience will help analyze how to effectively combine public and private investments to ensure the economic viability of innovation hubs.
  • Oleksandra Antoniuk, ideologist and head of Academ.City science park
  • Olga Roenko, co-founder of the voice of space agency, which transforms spaces into influential environments and works with innovation hubs and parks.
  • In addition, Oleksandra Pravdyva will make a presentation on the creation and development of Academ.City Science Park.
