Academ.city Startup School - an innovative ecosystem for the development of academic startups of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

We invite you to take part in the presentation of the initiative “Academ.city Startup School - an innovative ecosystem for the development of academic startups of NASU research institutions”, which is being held by the Kyiv Academic University in partnership with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

The presentation will take place on February 11, 2025, starting at 13.00 (the venue will be announced to registered participants).

The purpose of the event is to motivate research groups and teams to further cooperate with Academ.city Startup School. We strive to create conditions for the development of innovative ideas, support for academic startups and their entry into the market.

For scientists and students, the events of the Startup School are an opportunity to formalize their scientific ideas and developments into a project under the guidance of experienced mentors to submit it for grant funding and present it to interested investors, as well as help in finding business partners and attracting new members (management specialists, project managers) and students to the team.

The event will feature a presentation:

• JoinUP: Exchange of Ideas and Talents - periodic events to find partners to promote ideas, find common solutions for the development of joint projects.
• The BOOSTER incubation program for innovative projects and a series of trainings on incubation and acceleration support for academic startups that will help turn innovative ideas into viable business models.
• The Mohyla Open Hackathon “BE FIRST” is a competition of business ideas and innovative projects that has already become a launching pad for several successful startups.
• A mentoring program for academic startups.
• Training for young scientists on preparing projects for grant competitions.
• Information seminar and workshop on the implementation of FIWARE digital solutions (architecture for creating data spaces).

The event will feature speeches by representatives of business, venture capital, accelerators and other innovation ecosystem structures.

This initiative is aimed at creating a favorable environment for innovation, supporting talented developers, and integrating Ukrainian startups into the global ecosystem. We will be glad to see representatives of universities, institutes, startups, academia, business and all those interested in the development of innovation.
